Two killed by Iranian missile strike in central Israel

Tragedy unfolded overnight during an Iranian missile barrage on central Israel, as a couple in their 70s were killed when a fragmenting missile struck the city of Ramat Gan. Magen David Adom and fire and rescue teams that arrived at the scene attempted to provide life-saving treatment, but were ultimately forced to pronounce them dead. Scene of the deadly incident in Ramat Gan Tel Aviv District Police Commander Cmdr. Haim Sargarof said at the scene: "We are currently dealing with a widespread incident involving multiple sites, and here in Ramat Gan is the most severe scene. The two fatalities were on the third floor and were unable to reach a protected space." The incident joins earlier deadly strikes in Beit Shemesh and Tel Aviv. It is the third site with fatalities since the start of the current operation. Previously, nine people were killed in Beit Shemesh, and a woman was killed in Tel Aviv on the first day of the operation.
